Significant relationship between induced abortions and the risk of breast cancer.

A recent meta-analysis (Cancer Causes and Control, DOI.10.1007/sl0552-013.0325-7), has revealed a link between induced abortion and breast cancer. The Chinese study made use of data from 14 Chinese provinces. The risk of cancer among women who had had just one abortion was found to be 1.44 times greater than those who hadn’t; however, this figure was found to be higher among women who had had two and three abortions (1.76 and 1.89 respectively). The authors of the study conclude that there is a significant relationship between induced abortions and the risk of breast cancer.
